Today the squad was announced for Germany’s final two European qualifiers against Ireland on the 8th of October and Georgia on the 11th. The complete squad in video form.
Just the one change to the squad, and not an entirely unexpected one, out goes Ron-Robert Zieler and in comes Bernd Leno. No surprise given that they said they wanted to focus more on the younger keepers. I don’t think anyone views Zieler as any kind of serious successor to Neuer anyway. Entirely for my own reasons, I’m glad he’s not in the squad.
This is post number 700, I had planned on keeping this one for something special but I got here without realising it. I guess I should be happy at least that it’s German related.
