It’s very fitting that it was last night I changed my mind about making this set of posts, it’s not just one year since the world cup right now, it’s also one year today that I started this whole enterprise. I like that it began on the 24th of 2014, perfect and to make it all the more so today’s first post was number 524, it wasn’t planned that way, for once I wasn’t counting. To make it even more perfect I got a new interview of Hansi today.
It’s funny that my first post was about Stalingrad, more specifically the release of it on blu-ray with the original German audio. It’s funny because I was all so excited about that back then. In a space of a few short weeks I no longer cared and eventually ended up cancelling my pre-order because I wanted to use the money for surprise surprise, Germany games on DVD. I still haven’t got a copy yet and the only Thomas I have any interest in now is of course Müller.
It’s not quite a Löw-versary, but I’ve got a good idea for something along those lines, a chapter of the Löw adventures detailing Jogi & Hansi’s one year anniversary celebrations. There’s just one thing I can’t decide and that’s the date of when such a chapter should be posted. Should it be posted in November which is when I wrote the first chapter or should it be posted around the end of summer when that chapter was set? That I cannot decide.
I really owe the daily prompt a lot of thanks on that count. I know they can sometimes be unoriginal and some of them feel very samey, but if it weren’t for that I might never have put pen to paper on this particular topic. Obviously I had the idea before then, but it was just a fun to think about idea, I’m not sure I ever would have actually done anything with it. Then along came that prompt “Trio no.4” and how could I resist. Given the ease with which I came up with that story I must have given the subject quite a lot of thought previously, probably more than I realised. It’s not the best thing I’ve written, by now it’s not even my most favourite piece but it will forever be the one that is the most special.
And the rest is history, it took on a life of it’s own and my latest Löw adventure is looking like it’s going to run to fifty pages. It’s probably not a good thing that I spend more time and put more effort into working on this than my android story, but what can I say, I fell in love with the idea of Jogi & Hansi, true Löw.
Anyhow, that’s enough rambling, the pictures:
